Where is ASICS from?

ASICS is a Japanese sportswear brand, founded in 1949 in Kobe, best known for its running shoes and GEL cushioning.

What ASICS products do you stock?

We stock ASICS running trainers, plus running tops, shorts and socks for men and women. You can also order online and choose free Collect In-Store at our Banbridge shop.

What’s the difference between ASICS neutral and stability shoes?
  • Neutral shoes (like the Gel-Nimbus) are designed for runners or walkers with a natural gait.
  • Stability shoes (like the Gel-Kayano or GT-2000) include extra support for those who overpronate (roll inward).

If you're not sure which one you need, we’re always happy to help you choose based on how you walk or run.

Are ASICS shoes good for plantar fasciitis or foot pain?

ASICS shoes use GEL cushioning, which the brand designs to absorb impact at the heel and forefoot. Supportive models such as the GEL-Kayano and GT-2000 are popular with runners who want extra stability. If you have ongoing foot pain, it's worth getting advice from a podiatrist.

Are ASICS shoes good for everyday wear or just for running?

While ASICS is known for performance running shoes, many of their styles — like the Gel-Nimbus — are perfect for everyday walking, commuting, or long days on your feet. The comfort, support, and cushioning make them a great choice beyond sport.

Are Asics trainers good for kids?

Yes — ASICS kids’ trainers are a great choice for growing feet. They’re designed with supportive soles, breathable materials, and lightweight cushioning to keep kids comfy, whether they’re running around the playground or heading to sports practice.
